How and where do I see the pre-qualifier and how will they know if I qualify? Not sure about all this pre-qualify stuff. I keep getting emails from First premier gold credit card but haven't looked into it. Thanks

Simple. Click the link. Enter your info. If it says congratulations. Afterward. You are pre qualified. If it says we could not find offer but you might like this or that. You would have 50-50 chance maybe. Don't pay attention to email offers. There is no way for them to know who you are no more than knowing the name of a dolphin n a lineup . It's all garbage. For sure they don't know about your credit Here is link I mentioned.

Good luck
Ok just out of curiosity I did the pre-qual and it says " We couldn't match your records to a card offer but based on your answers we think you might like these cards" Capitol One platinum 0 AF, Quick silver one $39 AF with 1.5%cash back, Does this mean they will approve for both?

No. This means you were not pre-qualified. I would advise you to wait until you are.

I am still not pre qualified on their site, never was. .
App when you are free from BK, I'd wait three months or more. Great thread in bk forums, bk to 700. Personally, better to find credit union and get secured card. Cap one will like you better later (though you still might not pre qualify).
Well thats good to know, at least I know what it should NOT say lol, Thanks

When you are pre-qualified, it will say "Congratulations...."
When it says "We couldn't match...." that means you're not pre-qualified.
I hope this helps.
Thanks! Maybe after discharge I will get lucky I haven't applied for any credit other then a car pre-discharge but out of curiosity did the pre-qual for capital one since I had never seen a pre-qual b4.

Trying to say, most folks NEVER get a pre qual, and get the card. I call in, and I am pre qualed for Venture (don't want, thanks anyway). But their online apps (the purple button when you have account, and their online pre qual) never give that information. You do not need to pre qual to app for card. Some CC history after bk (why I suggested secured CU card, how I started), and a score of 590 or better, will get you a quicksilver one. No pre qual necessary.

There have also been many people who were not pre-qualified, tried anyway, and were denied. Capital One's pre-qual is pretty solid, so unless you have opted out of pre-screened offers, there's a chance you will be denied if you're not pre-qualified. Since it's a triple pull, it might be better to wait until the pre-qual offers you something, especially if there is negative info in your credit file. Sure there is a chance you could be approved even if you're not pre-qualified, but how great are those chances and are they worth a triple pull just to try?
