Cap One Second chance?

hi all,

I have a charge off with Cap One from about 5 years ago. I was able to get a secured card with them that i have had for exactly a year now. Have used it often and always payed in full. They still wont give me an unsecured cc. Anyone else have the same experience? Will they eventually offer me a card once i qualify or will i always have to try their preaulify site?

Cap1 is very forgiving it will just take time so hang in there

They should give you another card, but they have weird rules on approvals.  Their standard cards are limited to 2.  If you have a prime card, are can get the prime plus 2 standard.  You can only have 1 Sony card, etc....  I have tried so many times, even tried through Presidential Appeals and never get anywhere.

The best part about Cap1"s pre-qual is that they tend not to take you to the full app if you don't qualify in the short app. Many, many people (including me) have got the QS1 & Platinum CC's without a formal offer coming up.

I actually started a thread about this a couple of weeks ago and I would encourage you to check it out and then app the Plat. if you are approved go back and immediately app the QS1. Working it that way you will get 2 accts with 1 set of HP's.
