Re: Venture one NOT APPROVED!!

I almost want to apply for a chase card to make myself feel better... They always approve me with decent limits but I don't need anymore HP's. I have ALOT more credit then I need and the cards I use are all at 0% interest.

Re: Cap One Venture NOT APPROVED!!

@OP, Sometimes you have to take a risk or two.

This time it didn't pay off. Just know never to apply for their "Average" credit products again.

I don't think you're missing much.

I keep getting instant denied for Venture stuff myself. Not many of CapOne's cards are even that special at all and without the high limits and stuff, I think Venture is almost worthless.

Tradelines: Macy’s - $18k, Penfed Power Cash Rewards - $10k, Ethan Allen (TD Bank) - $5.7k, Kay Jewelers - $5.5k, Appliances Connection - $5.3k, Jared - $5.25k, Best Buy (Citi) - $5k, Dell Preferred Account - $3.5k, Samsung - $3.2k, Firestone CFNA - $3.2k, Capital One Platinum - $3k, Mercury MC - $2.25k, Williams Sonoma - $2.1k, Wayfair (Fortiva) - $2k, Amazon Store Card - $1.8k, Apple Card - $1.7k, NFCU cashRewards - $1.5k, CareCredit - $1.5k, B&H Photo - $1.5k, Adorama - $1.25k, Ebay MC - $1k, Sam’s Club MC - $1k, American Eagle - $1k, Ollo MC - $600, Mission Lane Visa - $500, NY & Company - $500, Walgreens - $500, Home Depot - $500, Target RED Card - $500, CapOne Secured MC 0 AF - $500, Penfed Overdraft LOC - $500

Current FICOS: Mid 640s-50s on all reports, Ch 7 BK D/C Aug 2019

Re: Cap One Venture NOT APPROVED!!

It must have to do with your closing all their accounts previously and the baddies.

You could call to ask them to match the limit of your old QS1, which may look like a reasonable request to them.

Re: Cap One Venture NOT APPROVED!!

For my own data were you pre-qualified for the Venture when they denied you?

Sorry you didnt get your card(recon it),

Not a huge deal by the way, it's just a denial. I try to keep a lot of emotion out of them when they happen to me.

Lol, stop doing what everyone else is doing and you'd be fine. I was just waiting on the first person

to cry about not getting approved for the venture,

if if you normally wouldn't apply for a Capital One then don't do it.

I know now it's temping but I'm good with the combo I have now :

Sallie Mae

QuickSilver

Blue Cash Everyday

Macys American Express

having a high limit card is just a ego boost. Most folk want even use 20% of their limit. They just love the way it looks on their

reports and like to use it for negotiation leverage on other cards they may apply for in the future.

Like someone else said , This is TOO {{{FUNNY}}}

Yes, I think a pre-qualification of any CapOne card, preferably the Venture, is one component to the successful apps.

OP closing with prejudice all the prior CapOne cards also takes OP out of the knowlege base that CapOne has. CapOne could no longer see payment history.

With lowish-600 scores still coming up from very low scores, OP needed to keep those "lousy" CapOne cards open, low limits or not, to keep building that relationship, keep showing CapOne what OP is capable of.

CapOne is providing those who work for it the ability to get higher limit cards, provided they show CapOne what they can do, in person, with a CapOne card, in my opinion.

High Bal Jan 2009 $116k on $146k limits 80% Util.
Oct 2014 $46k on $127k 36% util EQ 722 TU 727 EX 727
April 2018 $18k on $344k 5% util EQ 806 TU 810 EX 812
Jan 2019 $7.6k on $360k EQ 832 TU 839 EX 831
March 2021 $33k on $312k EQ 796 TU 798 EX 801
May 2021 Paid all Installments and Mortgages, one new Mortgage EQ 761 TY 774 EX 777
April 2022 EQ=811 TU=807 EX=805 - TU VS 3.0 765

Re: Cap One Venture NOT APPROVED!!

If you had been prequaled for QS then you go for it. QS1 meh. my prequals keep flipping back and forth on a weekly basis from QS1 and AF plat to QS/Venture/No AF Plat. Very strange.

Sorry to hear of your denial. Aside from having similar FICO scores as those who were approved. What was your overall profile snapshot at time of apping?

INCOME?

AAOA?

INQ?

UTIL?

DTI?

NEG? How old and type?

NEW ACCT#?

I only ask, cause there are many other factoring elements besides score.
