Cap One application recon

If I apply for one particular card & they happen to decline it. will they offer a different card instead or do will I then have to apply again and do another HP?

From what I have seen they will do another HP.

Awhile back Cap1 used to do 2 apps with the same HP but now its 1 approval per 6 months from what I've been hearing. Seems like when Cap1 started letting people combine their cards about a year ago it all went smooth then maybe 6-7 months after that they stop doing the 2 apps for 1 hp. I guess with all those Double apps where people where getting 30k-20k on each apps(Venture/Venture1/QS Siggy) and then combining in 6 months to make Super Cards($50-60k) Cap1 had to slow it down abit as this would of been a trend where in a couple of years  most us probably would of been sitting on $100k-200K cards through Cap1....jmho

No, they won't offer a different card if you get decline.  It will be another hardpull for a different card.

Might want to try their prequal before you actually apply. May give you a better idea as far as what cards your credit profile fit in their criteria.
