Cap1 CEO cli email...3rd time is NOT a charm! Denied! :(

I'm sure everyone remembers my last couple of rant post about not getting another cli of any amount after 1 yr of monthly usage, pif, never late...all the good stuff. My last cli was 04/10/14. Anyway... When my 6 months In between cli came and went, I didn't get another one, hit the button...denied. Called the EO, took all my info down sent it over....denied. I was upset considering I've used my card way more the past 3 months than usual, make big payments, etc etc.

I thought this time Ill email the CEO. I was very nice thanking them for having the card, and wanting this as my main card etccc...a few days later a guy calls me back, we play phone tag for another few days, and finally spoke. Told him all over again why I was requesting a cli etc... His response was... "I see that you already called EO last month and the cli was denied. I'm not sure you will get a different outcome". "We are a very conservative company"... At that point... I knew there was no reason to waste my breathe explaining everything all over again, he said my account is in excellent standing, but we take into consideration other factors from your credit report".

He wasn't telling me anything that I didn't already know, but I tried again. I haven't used my card since. I cashed out the rewards, paid the account in full. Ill use the card in maybe January or February and buy a cookie, and then pif. No too upset anymore, it is what it is.

Glad to hear you accepted it for what it was - a business decision.  A CLI would likely be possible in the future, just not at the current moment.

Yea Fin.. My understanding was that you're eligible for one every 6 months, so when my year came and went, I thought I'd get something. Wasn't expecting a huge miracle cli but even $200 would have been nice, and continuing to remind me that I was still moving in the right direction.

We will see what happens over this next year while gardening. Smiley Happy

I hope this has been a valuable lesson on how CapOne works. It's easier to get a dime out of the change machine at a laundromat than it is to get a CLI out of CapOne when you apply initially with sub-prime credit...

Not to be a party poop here....but my QS MC just got a $1,500 CLI.....I literally logged in just now after seeing your post which jogged my memory about clicking that button once a month.. You'll get your CLI, maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow.

Cat Sad I was waiting to hear your outcome with them. I'm still in the same boat with you. My last CLI on my platinum was also in April of this year. No luv since then by auto or SP. I've been using it heavy and paying it down to about 1-6% utl for reporting for the past three months to see if that would spark a CLI. Nothing so far. I can't figure them out. I'm also past my 4 year annivesary with them... well the first three years were with HSBC.

Keep both your credit and your body in top shape!

I have heard of people being denied a cli but get approved for a whole new account. Try that

You're eligible to request one.  There is a big distinction.

+1..  Yes cap1 is concervative in they don't give CLI to many without going to EO route.. Although there are rumors of people seeing bigfoot, kinda like the mythical CLI button from the website.  A few sighting, but you can't sell me on itSmiley Happy.  If you show my a photo I will rebuff with saying photoshopped!

Just like the features button for "offers" has anyone actually ever got ANYTHING from this button or get it to offer a PC or anything?  Never for me, then have to call the CSR and they say try the button I am like I always do and nothing I really don't think it works and long and behold I ask her to check sure enough I can PC my card...

Re: Cap1 CEO cli email...3rd time is NOT a charm! Denied! :(

I'm new to the forums and am slowly rebuilding after a credit ruining divorce. I applied for the Cap 1 Journey card in May of this year and was approved for a $300 limit. I was elated.......I had 2 cars repossed and defaulted on several credit cards during the divorce (2006) so I was very grateful to have it. Fast forward to October and I check my mobile app to see if a payment had been posted when I saw that my credit limit was now $3300! I couldn't believe it. I called the number to make certain that it was not a mistake and it wasn't. This card always reported with a low balance but I made multiple payments throughout the month and used it daily. I recently applied for another Cap 1 card and was given a $2000 CL. I received an email today letting me know that I was on track to receive a $500 cli in May 2015. A little confusing to be sure but hey, I will take what I can get.

I hope you get the increase that you hoping for.

I've seen a few cases around here, so it's possible (both online CLI and PC).

Something fishy is going on (in a good way lol).  Recently, I have seen several people get that exact increase (300 to 3300).
