Cap1 CLI Requests

I'm getting ready to pay off the balances for my QS and QS1 cards so I can finally get my scores up. I'm thinking about asking for a CLI on the QS1 (current CL is $500 and this month will be a year since having the card) so that I can have a better chance to upgrade it to one of the Venture cards. I did ask for a CLI back in January but got denied to the high utilization on the card. With me bringing the balance down to $0 (hopefully by the end of the week before the due date), should I try to ask for another CLI later this month or is it too soon to request it again?

I'd give it some time after you pay it off. Cap1 does ARs every 2-3 months,  so if you request too soon, they will use old SP showing high utilization.

Good luck

Re: Cap1 CLI Requests

I have had a Capital One CC for years, it was upgraded to Quicksilver some time ago and after some BS I stopped using it. I recently decided to request a CLI, haven't heard anything from them and its been days. At the end of the day IDGAS really and I can go without ever using that card again.

Good luck on your CLI, let us know how it goes.

Good to know about the AR every 2-3 months. I'll just hold off until April before asking for a CLI on it. At least I'll be able to relax knowing that two of my cards are paid off.

Re: Cap1 CLI Requests

Im in the same boat. Had the card about 14mo now. No CL growth other than finishing the steps. Was at about 30% util on the card. Asked for CLI. Denied for high balance. PIF and a month later asked again. Denied for too many inq. WTH Cap1!? I do have about 8 in the past 12mo. Oh well.

Keep us posted! Good luck!

AR is annual review?

Re: Cap1 CLI Requests

AR = account review.

@marcforza1, if you call and ask, the front line rep should be able to tell you when your next account review is.

I'll give them a call about AR this weekend after I make my payment. And I'll do an update on here sometime in April when I contact them again about the CLI as well as any signs of increase on my score after my PIF payments on the two cards.

Re: Cap1 CLI Requests

I just found out about the AR schedule this week, which in my case appears to be quarterly. I put in for a CLI which of course was denied, and on page 2 of my letter it mentioned checking my EQ score from 1-1-2019, when it was suppressed by higher UTI. I’ll try again in April when it’ll reflect my higher scores.

Re: Cap1 CLI Requests

Good luck! From personal experience and reading around the forums, CapOne seems to be hit or miss. Let us know what happens.
