I suppose we should start looking at Capital One as a use daily for small purchases kind of card. Gas and convenient store type of purchases, then pay in full and do it again.

Maybe not really the best strategy if you have a high CL card with them and want to avoid a CLD.

How long is Cap One taking to respond to CLI requests these days?  After I saw this post yesterday, I logged in and requested one just to see if I'd get the same thing.  Still nothing.  Surely they don't have some little old lady manually reviewing each person's request?

I been playing that game with their Walmart Mastercard to no avail. However they just earned a nice spot in a closet where they can sit it out for long as they want like they do to us.

Zoinks!  My online letter showed up and I got the same message as above.  I've never once requested a CLI on this account (opened 2.5 years ago), and I haven't requested a CLI from Cap One or any other lender in, like, several years.  Scores around 800.

Obviously Cap One is involved in some sinister plot.  And they would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids.

Yep...Same message I had been getting for a while, till I slowed down using their products.  Your card could be "bucketed".

Try applying for one of their non-credit builder cards...one of their cards that doesn't have "one" behind the product name.

As of 7/22: FICO EX-794 EQ-792 TU-798
Total Credit Limits $255K = Credit util 1% overall AAoA 5.2 years...All thanks to the forum!
