Re: Cap1 application

As long as you don't have any lates or baddies your score should be really good when your utilization comes down. Credit unions are a great way to go too. Are you enrolled to get pre qualified offers too?

Re: Cap1 application

I don't reckon I'm enrolled to get pre qualified offers. I haven't gotten one in years. I need to look at the thread with all the abbreviations and whatnot. I don't know what baddies consist of. Everything bad that I know of I listed in my initial post. And no late payments on anything in 5 years. Thanks for the replies y'all.

Re: Cap1 application

Idk how good it is but I just got a response from PenFed about a CC I applied for with them. They conditionally approved it pending income verification. It's better than a flat denial but idk if they send everyone those responses or not. I'll send them my last two tax returns and see what they say.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried a few of the prequals on some of the cards. They always say no match... And thus far I've been turned down cap1, Amex, discover would approve with co signer but I already have that, BoA said no as well but countered with a secured card. I may try that route idk. I can't figure out what the dang problem is unless it's the high balance on the one BB&T card. I used it to make some pretty extensive repairs on my truck (I'm an owner operator truck driver) a lil while ago and am currently paying 500 dollars a month on it to pay it down. I guess I'll keep paying on it and see what happens in 6 months or so. It's kinda discouraging tho. You'd think somebody let me borrow a few hundred dollars to build off of but what can you do...

Could be the high ut since you only have the one card.  Another card would be Barclay's.  I know you just app'd for some new cards but they approve you anyway.  The BOA is a good option also.  After charging and paying every month or more, you should get unsecured in no time.  Also some Comenity cards are Visa.  That would also get your foot in the door.  And they do raise you cl often.  Which would also help you.
