Capital One Advice....

Hey Family!  I want to apply for a Capital One card but I'm not sure if it's a good idea.... I was approved for a Stash Visa today for 5k, my highest limit is 6k with 11% Util..... I've had Capital One in the past that I had some late payments on but that was in 2014.... I've been perfect with everuthing since then.... scores are in sig....  Ex low bcus an old collection was placed on it and they hate me smh....

What is the best Capital One Card I should apply for?

Thanks!!!!

Re: Capital One Advice....

Check Capital One's prequalifier and see what cards show up for you, then report back.

I've been checking that for months and nothing comes up... not sure if something is on my reports stopping me from getting pre-qualified for anything but I don't get anything from anybody.......

My hubby get so much mail with offers and I never got any smh

Re: Capital One Advice....

Hmm.. are you opted out of pre-screened offers by chance? If you know for sure that you are opted in, and no offers come up, then perhaps it's something internal with Cap 1 and your profile that's holding you back (maybe those late pays??). Not sure. If I were you I would wait until you're prequalified. Capital One's prequalifier is pretty solid, but it's up to you.

Edited to ask if you're over 21 years old?

Re: Capital One Advice....

if you did app and you were black listed. They wont even pull your credit report as so many have mentioned. Go for the QS1 or the Platnum. Best of luck.

I'm not sure if there is a way to tell, but you can always opt in just in case. Just google "optoutprescreen" and you can opt in online. I noticed in your sig you have 2 Cap 1 cards... which ones are they? I know Cap 1 only allows us to have 2 sub-prime cards or 5 prime cards. Depending on which 2 cards you have, that may be why no offers are coming up. If they are 2 sub-prime cards, your only option would be to apply for their prime cards (i.e. Quicksilver ((NOT QuicksilverOne)), Venture, or VentureOne. Your profile looks like you should qualify for these, that's why I'm confused why there is no pre-quals for you. I'm too chicken to app without a prequal, but if you're feeling brave you could try it - but I really trust their prequalifier.

LOL, sorry I guess I need glasses. Well in that case, you should qualify for one of their cards at least. Do you know what your current scores are?
