Hi! I'm new here and I'm hoping someone has insight. I recently turned 18 and I am trying to develop credit. This morning I pre-qualified and applied for the capital one quicksilver and got an email saying it's under a standard review and they will contact me shortly. I was never contacted. I decided to try again and applied for the savor card that I was also pre-qualified for but this time I was denied. Any advice or insight?

Not sure how long you waited for them to contact you but suffice to say...you may want to call them.

You might get the first one to establish since it IS Cap1 but without being scoreable (just turning 18 assuming no file/AUs) subsequent apps would be instant denial?

No, the second card being instantly denied is due to Capital One's "only one application every 6 months" rule. Whether you're approved or denied on the first application is irrelevant.
OP, I think you just took 6 HPs (2 per bureau). I'd have called and asked about the status of the first before trying again. As it stands, I'd still suggest giving them a call.
Thank you all for responding. I got a letter saying they denied the card due to a pending or recently processed app. I still haven't heard anything about the first app. I will call them.
I called. They need my social security card, my ID, and proof of address. They said I will get a letter in 7-10 days telling me how to submit it to them.

There you go. Just be patient.
