Capital One Application Process...How many days?

I opened a First Premier card in September 2017...I want to close the card but I don't want to lose the available credit so I applied for the Quicksilver One on 3/4/19.  After I applied I got a 7-10 day message but the message also said it can take up to 15 days.  Shortly after that I received an email stating they are processing my application & someone will be in touch with me.  Since then I haven't heard anything.  I want to cancel my First Premier card before the statement closes on 3/15 if I don't I will be charged the monthly fee of $12.00.

Do anyone know how long Capital One process takes?  It's been 3 days & I don't even know if I'm approved or not.  If so, do I have to wait 7-10 days before I can know my credit limit?

Unfortunately, there's no hard-and-fast rule on the application processing timeframes. Some can easily be completed in less than 7 business days while others can take several weeks.

Since it's been 3 days since it was submitted, personally I would wait things out. If you haven't received any form of correspondence or notification after 10 business days, you can reach out to them to determine the status of the application.

That makes sense.  I guess I have to be patient. Thanks

Re: Capital One Application Process...How many days?

No offence but you sound like your suffering from Stockholm Syndrome with First Premier. There are plenty of better accounts that you can get to replace it if you look and Capitol One falls through. One example being an OpenSky Secured card. I recommend closing your First Premier account anyway. Monthly fees are not normal and annual fees are a stretch.

With Capitol One if you get the 7-10 message then they will take 7-10 to sort it out. You have to remember that you have a BK and that messes with any potential new lender's automated system. In fact Capitol One is is the most reliable of the many options when it comes to processing time. The good news is that Capitol One is BK friendly and commonly works with your specific issue often but I have heard that the 7-10 message is common when BK and/or collections show up as a person is asked to give a second look.
