Applied for a Capital One Savor card on Thursday or Friday last week. Received a decision that "they need to review a few things and will be in touch within 7-14 business days." I try to call the application status line... It asks for my social and tries to transfer me over... A few seconds later, the automated system comes back online and says "Thanks for calling, unfortunately our representatives are unable to take calls at this time," and then suggests I go online while the call hangs up automatically.
What is going on? I understand there's been some higher than normal call volume due to COVID-19, but that doesn't affect underwriters/loan officers, and it should have me wait for a rep instead of just giving up and saying nobody is available. What does Capital One's decision so far mean? Approval? Denial? This is highly annoying.
This answer won't be particularly HELPFUL, but just know that CapOne tries to automate everything. Getting an actual human will be an endeavor. It has not yet been 7-14 business days, so I guess just wait to hear from someone?
Sorry about the annoyance and good luck with the app!
Least it wasnt an auto denial, so chances are probably fairly good for you.. Yes CV has impacted EVERY company in sort of shape one way or another. I speculate most Cap1 Employees including UW/Security/etc are probably teleworking and things do go slower for many companies with some of the complexities of people teleworking. Cap1 isn't scared to auto deny so can look at it that way. Trying to get any kinda of urgency especially credit with the current situation is a futile attempt and you are just going to have to wait like everyone else. Best of luck.

So you're saying not having an autodenial means most likely approved?
Lost likely although still as always be a denial. Cap1 usually issues instant denials vs. more time needed message, etc.. See how it plays out, but could of been worse and an instant vs. most likely someone taking a look at it, etc.
Good luck !
Best of luck to you!
