Hello friends,
I've had my BofA card since 2016 and have never received a CLI from the initial 2k they gave me. I hear there's a "Luv Button" (a Request Credit Limit Increase link) but I've never seen it For most of my time with them I've used this card only for Netflix and paid on time and in full, but then last year my dad got sick so I had to use it for other expenses. I still paid on time but was always close to the limit and only paid the minimum. Now I'm back to paying on time and in full, yay. But my question is this: is there any point to calling or going into a branch to request a CLI if the button hasn't appeared? Has anyone done this and had success? Or does the lack of the button mean they won't consider me for one regardless?
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide
I didn't have the luv button either. Then I did a BT and as soon as I had that activity, the button appeared and they doubled my CL from 8k to 16k.
In the search box if you type in "increase credit limit" and then click on the link that appears, you should be able to see whether a CLI is available for you to even apply.
For a long time, that is how I would request an increase. Or sometimes it would tell me that nothing was available in red letters.
You can always call in to ask for a cli

Are you saying that you have late payments such as past the due date but not quite 30 days late? If you are paying past the due date, BoA is keeping track of this internally and is probably not very eager to extend you additional credit.
Oh no, I guess that was weird phrasing but I've always paid on time. Just for about 8 months I was paying on time but only the minimum. Sorry for the confusion.

@seattletravels That's an interesting DP... I'm still awaiting the LUV button to appear in my account. I opened the account 09/05/19 and have been getting BT offers every ~2 or so months since opening. I would love to BT one of my balances but my 8k CL isn't enough for the BT and it's basically a catch22 lol.
I mean BOA pushes BT offers to me like the air I breathe!
