So I've been paying down my credit cards as fast as I reasonably can, focusing on my high interest Quicksilver One. My scores have gone up dramatically since reworking my finances last October (started at ~590 and now up to 737). Earlier this week I realized It had been six months since my last CLI on the card (a measly $150) so I requested another one and was VERY surprised to see an approval for $3000, bringing my CL up to $4650!
Right after the CLI I decided to try the upgrade link, because who wants to pay $40 a year for the most basic of rewards? Denied. Until I tried again last night out of boredom, and lo and behold I get the option for a Venture One! I honestly thought it would never happen for me and that I'd eventually have to cancel the card, despite it being one of my oldest.
I read something from a user here that they had started to use the card monthly, and after about a year they were finally able to PC. So from February onwards I put one charge on it a month, usually ~$20-$50. Can't believe it worked, especially this fast!
Once again I thank all you folks here for all the priceless information y'all make available! Not sure what other data points I can provide to anyone else who's in this boat, but feel free to ask if I can give you any info you'd like to know. It IS possible to crawl out from under this rock of a card!
Congrats on the increase and the approval, great work!!
Fantastic!
Sometimes I check the product upgrade page and it says I can change my Quicksilver to a Venture or VentureOne. Sometimes it gives me zero options. I'm waiting for the day they allow me to change it to a SavorOne. (Not holding my breath though.)

That's great! I have a QS1 that I really want to PC and used heavily, but haven't had it long enough. A PC to regular QS would be great but I'd happily take a V1 PC as well since it's no AF.

Nice job on the QS1 CLI and upgrade link success to the Venture1! Still trying to upgrade mine. No dice yet! ![]()

How long have you had your QS1? I've gone from feeling lucky to have an unsecured card to it being a drag on me 5 months and change after opening it. I'm getting pre approval offers to apply for a regular QS but that would just complicate my situation, and may require closing a card. Savor One is the one Cap1 card that really makes sense for me and my spend, but you can't PC to it. A regular QS is OK, but I don't want to risk being able to get a Savor One either.

Congratulations!
Congrats on your Capital One CLI.
