Cap1 was good to me to help re-establish myself after being a foolish teenager and ruining my credit. They were my first starter card with $500 CL got an increase at some point to $1,500 but that was the max I got to with the CLI request button. Once my scores were over 750 I just went instant credit on their Venture card with 10K instantly given to me. I've since closed my starter card because it had an annual fee of $50. In my experience they seem stingly with "generous" CLIs and you're probably better off applying for a better one of their cards only if your scores will guarantee the great initial CL. That's been my experience with Cap1.
Sign into your account at the top right side of the page is a link for Services put your cursor over is and click at the bottom on "more" this will take you to the Manage your account page under "Card Services" towards the bottom of the list is "request a credit limit increase". You can request a CLI every six months after you last approved CLI.

Hu everyone! I know that Cap One gives CLI after 5 on time payments, but I heard some people have said they've gotten one almost instantly, after 1 or 2 payments. What is your experience with this?
Also, how to request a CLI? By phone? Online? I hear about a luv button. What is that?
Thank you!!

Totally disagree. My Cap1 plat started at 300. At the 5 month mark it was increased to 3.3k. They recently denied another CLI due to too many payments not "significantly higher" than the minimum. I looked back and there had been 3 of the last 6 months I only paid the mins. I am confident that they will give another increase when I make a couple of big payments.
ETA: Oh, and after the denial I was able to PC to a QS for rewards.
I received both a Platinum and a QS1 on 4/4/16 with a SL of $500 each. 21 days after opening the account I was able to PC the Platinum to a QS. A couple days after my 3rd statement I hit the luv button and received a $3.5K increase on my QS1 and a $1.5K increase. I made between 13 and 15 payments prior to my 3rd statement. With the larger limits ($4K and $2K) I am able to charge more and make much larger payments. I hope to see more than a $500 increase after my 5th statement, but I'd take that over nothing!
Question - How quickly after my steps increase after statement 5 can I combine my QS1 into my QS?
I was on the Capital One Journey card program, then about 3 months into owning the card, I chatted with a representative asking to product change to the Quicksilver Visa. They said they could do that for me, and I received the Quicksilver in the mail with the added 1.5% benefits. On top of that, about a month later I clicked the request credit limit increase button and they raised me $1,250 to $2,250 total. I think you should try to initiate it yourself, they seem to be pretty friendly to customers.

I received a CLI after the 3rd statement hit and it was via the luv button (it's the one that says "Request Credit Limit Increase").
