Recently updated my income a few weeks ago for a new position I took at my employer. Since then I've been getting banners up top when I log in via both desktop and the app encouraging meeting request a CLI. Is there anything to this that would indicate better odds of approval or is it just marketing BS? My last CLI request was in March on my VX. I was at 15k CL, requested 20k, and was approved for 19k CL. While I've got multiple C1 cards, the only C1 card I'd have interest in a CLI on is my Savor which is at 20k currently (where it started 2+ yrs ago) and whilexit would be nice, I dont really need more CL on it. C1 is already over half my total CL and is either 46% or 51% of reported income (depending on whether I count Discover It Chrome). Is it worth requesting or should i just let things ride where they are?

Give it a try, just for the science. I'll certainly be cheering you on. I don't think I've ever gotten more than $400 from them.
Can't offer any assistance on the specifics other than 20k would look a whole lot nicer than 19k. Unless you get a Mike0 special and are stuck with a 19.4 limit.

Could you share a screenshot of what the banner looks like? I've never seen one and I'm just curious thank you
As mentioned, and given there's no HP, there is the "doing it for science" aspect.
Capital One does grant auto CLIs. If the algorithm had developed a crush on your updated income, you'd probably already have the higher limit... no?
Instead, it seems to be saying, Umm, we think we might be willing to give you more... sort of... maybe. OK so we really don't know and can't say for sure, but feel free to ask. ![]()
@JoeRockhead I've never gotten an auto CLI from Cap One. Although they're SPs I may need to think about this one and will stew on it over dinner.

So got a banner this evening after dinner, this one was a bit different with the verbiage than the banner popping up before. Got approved for one but wil put that info in the approvals post.

@Zoostation1 For a while, I thought I was in the doghouse with Cap One. I've had a bucketed QuickSilver for years and couldn't get any further increases on the card for nothing; it was stuck at about $ 3,200 with one or two CLIs after credit improved. After getting the excellent credit Savor in May of 2024, I thought I had finally broken through and that the floodgates would open; well, they didn't. After getting a CLI, when I activated the card and requested double the surprising $5,000 limit I was given after receiving the card, I was only given one $ 2,500 CLI seven months later. I would request, request, and request, only to be denied, so I basically gave up a couple of months ago, accepting that Cap One algorithm didn't vibe with my profile, even with consistent use and PIF. Then, out of the blue, I get this email that I have never gotten from them saying I can request a CLI. Not less than two weeks ago, I took a shot in the dark, requesting a CLI and was denied. Y'all, I literally almost jumped
! I read and re-read the emails so many times because I couldn't believe it, being careful not to screw anything up after clicking the link. I should've gone for a $50,000 limit, but went with $30,000 instead, which is basically more than double my limit. Instantly approved! I was floored because the previous denial letters said I was denied due to my credit obligations, even though my utilization was less than 2-3% at times. This time, it happened to be 10% because of DS's grad party expenses.

I got this a few months ago from TD and it worked just like they said it would.
Though after I got it, they kept sending me to submit for another one, so I did ![]()
Didn't work that time ![]()

What he said. If it doesn't work, you could try browbeating them for enticing you!
