Capital One Kohl's Visa Signature - Worth it?

Hi all,

I tried the prequalification link for the Kohls Visa Signature through Capital One and saw I was pre-approved. I've noticed my FICO 8 scores have jumped to 680/685/700 (tu, eq, ex respectively).

Is this card worth it for the rewards? I like the 3% back on gas, although I'm tempted to hold off for the Costco Citi. From Capital One's website, it appears this card is only for Good/Excellent credit, and I've been turned down by Kohl's prequalification in the past prior to Cap1, so it was nice to see they're willing to approve me now.

Has anyone been approved for this card/what was your starter limitkohls pre approved.png

Among many reasons to not get the card.. all earned rewards can only be used at Kohl's. More reasons are stated in this verbiage as copied from the banner on my Kohl's Rewards Visa account:

"Quick note: Your Kohl's Rewards balance is converted and issued in $5 Kohl's Cash increments on the first day of the following month, valid for 30 days."

it's still a $500 minimum credit line, you'd have to know how much of a discount you're getting if you apply

you can buy kohl's gift cards secondhand for ~10% off currently? not sure how much value the kohl's card is if you can get other cards

Re: Capital One Kohl's Visa Signature - Worth it?

I started with a Kohls store card. I shop a lot at Kohls. I started with only $300 or maybe $500 I can't remember.  But then a year later it became a Mastercard with a 2k limit.  It depends on your needs really.  I love it for the cash back and I do love Kohls.  I really only use at Kohls.  I keep forgetting it's a Mastercard as well.  It's worth it for me... if you like the cashback it's worthy. If you carry a balance there may be better interest rates out there. If I want to carry a balance  use a different card. But personally a variety of cards is the spice of life.
