Gotcha, at first they asked for bank statement. I told them I coudn't provide one becuase I just switched from BOA to Chase, so they were cool with my last two paystubbs. I'm glad I called becuase they claimed to have sent me an email about it. I haven't received anything via email.

At least they are being flexible with their request. Most companies want what they asked for and won't accept anything else.

Well we will see if they approve me still. I had to tell her that my income was 70k. I put my total annual income is 125k (wife makes 54k), so I said that was an error, and she would make a note on the application. I'll probably get declined now cause of that. I thought only Amex does that from what I read on this forum. In my 44 years I've never had to send income verification for credit card, and I've had credit cards with Chase, BOA, Discover, Citi, Barclays and Amex just to name a few. I only had one card with Amex and it was for a 2k limit.

You can't just send your wife's pay stubs too?

But yeah, I have only had to do IV with SSFCU and DCU but I also don't think many banks are going to question if I'm lying about my income. People don't generally inflate their income and put down just $18K. Honestly sounds like the app may be more trouble than its worth at this point but taking 3 HPs for a card and then ducking out because of income verification would be a bitter pill indeed.

My wife is a consultant, and she used to make 250k annualy. She's scaled back her career/hours and works totally remotely now (no travel anymore). She feeling under the weather this week, so I didn't want to bother her with this. Also I would have to have her pull up her bank statements or her tax returns since she's not a full time employee. She gets direct deposits from her current contract (2 year contract). I've always included my total household income because she uses and PIF multiple credit cards under my name (she's AU) that I don't even use like Amazon 5K limit, Kohl's 2k limit, Talbots 500 limit, Target 1k and Rooms to Go 7,500 limit.

Hopefully you'll get some good news soon. Capital One isn't usually really big sticklers about having high income to have their cards... I mean I have $18,250 in limits between two cards with them and my income is $18K.

I called (third phone call this week) in this morning to verify that they had received my pay stubs via fax, and they informed me that they did. They also informed me that I had been approved for a 5K limit. Now, I'm finally done for 2019 lol. My 2 Cap1's will be my daily drivers. Here's to watching them grow!

Me too, I wish the sl was better but I won't complain all things considered. I'm pretty surprised that I got it in the first place.B483E19D-A342-40C6-AF1B-6EDC75DD88CF.jpeg

Re: Capital One Pre-Qualify?

Congratulations! Your in with them. Use them heavily and PIF, and your limit will grow from what I’ve read on this forum.

Re: Capital One Pre-Qualify?

Shoot, congrats are in order for you as well, I wasn’t going to do it but then I read your post. I figured we’d take the triple threat together and be some DP’s for the FICO gang. I really thought mine would be a decline because cap1 got burnt for somewhere between 10 and 20k. It would seem they are somewhat forgiving though!
