@Anonymous wrote:When I applied for Capital 1's card, they started me off with a PC then change me over to a QS. I am not sure of the difference. I began with a $300.00 CL. I was told that I was "possibly" eligible for an increase after 3 statements. With today being the closing of the 4th statement, I decided to try for a CLI. I went online, filled out the questionnaire and then it stated it would reply to my request in 2-3 business days. Do you thing I prematurely requested a CLI? Why do they need 2-3 days to figure out if I am eligible or not. I've always paid on time.
I've tried more than a few times and that LUV button will not work prior to 6 months from the last CLI. If you need a CLI, you would have to contact the EO and request a manual CLI review.
I just got that denial, 2-3 days. Somehow I was lured into trying to CLI my AMEX and Cap One cards about 50-60 days after getting decent increases. Rejections on both, but i just haven't received Amex's in the mail yet. The CSR for American Express said it would be fine for me to try, I should have checked here first. Cap 1's reason was "recent credit line change" The only silver lining for me is that it's soft pulls for both i'm pretty sure.
EDIT: Hmmm, maybe it was closer to 80 days after my last cli, I forget.
You were right, they said it wasnt six month yet. I will see if they automatically give me a cli when the time comes. *Back to gardening I go.
Thought this might help someone out in the future...
I have the Capital One Quicksilver One mastercard which I opened in mid June, 2015 with a limit of $2,000. I spent a little bit here and there the first couple of months and always paid more than the minimum due. I tried the luv button several times and always got the 2-3 day message and then a denial because the account was too new.
I decided two weeks ago to start putting more on the card and making several payments. I put $1,000 through the card and made 3 different payments all within these last two weeks which got the card down to about $500. Tried the luv button last night and got an increase of $1,350!
I think they want to see you spend more than normal and then pay it down and make extra payments so that they know you can handle a bigger credit line and bigger payments. I am still on the credit steps program so I should see another increase in a few months. I got this CLI with only two statements. I think if the account is at least three months old and you put a decent amount through it and make large payments you are more eligible for a CLI.
