Capital One QS1 CLI Question

Just made a post about how I was approved for a Blaze MC in the Credit Card Approvals section and have had several people tell me to try for CLI on my Cap One QS1 even though I'm currently on the baby steps program to go from $300 to $500 starting next month.

I had tried after my first month and got a straight up denial, saying the account was too new. I kinda forgot about it to be honest, just figuring I'd wait, but upon hearing that reccomendation to push for the CLI, I tried again and I got a "We're reviewing your request and will let you know about our decision in 2-3 days" and it also said "You may need to be provide additional documents upon our decision", it was one of those pop up boxes, I should have taken a screen shot of it.

Does anyone know what that entails? Does that mean it is a possibility?

My relationship with Cap One is as follows, approved for a Platinum Secured Card 11 months ago for $200, a few months ago they gave me a CLI to $500 without any additional deposit. However, it is still a secured card.

I applied and was approved for the Cap One QS1 back in June, $300. Have carried a few small balances on it, nothing major. Recently they have been sending me a ton of target offers on Auto Financing, which I have no interest in. Nevertheles, they've been very good to me as I'm still rebuilding but getting very close to being on the right track. Any input would be great

Re: Capital One QS1 CLI Question

Good luck getting CLIs from Cap One. They may give you the Credit Steps increases, but they will be small and spread out. Generally any Capital One account is ineligible for CLIs until it's at least three months old. As for the "additional documentation" or whatever, they may be talking about proof of income. I kind of doubt they'll actually require it, but you never know.

Re: Capital One QS1 CLI Question

OP, generally the 2-3 day message yields a denial. If your CL remains unchanged in the next 24-48 hours then that's likely the outcome.

There are instances in which POI may be required, if anything, but it depends on the profile and how long you've had the CC.

Re: Capital One QS1 CLI Question

From my experience you can hit the luv button all you want but Cap One has gotten strict. 1 CLI per 6 month period is it. The only exception to getting multiple increases in a shorter period is during the “credit steps” in which you can hit the luv button during this period and still get your “credit steps” increases. That message is always a denial for me. As far as the “further documentation” I know their going through a system update so it might be a new standard notification.
