Capital One Question

So I have a question-  I have a secured MC with CapOne and just completed my 4th billing cycle.  I was curious and went through the pre-approval process and it came back that I was pre-approved for the Quicksilver!  So my question is, even with my Secured card open and not yet past the 5th statement, would they still likely approve me for the Quicksilver?

Re: Capital One Question

Yes. Just make sure its the quicksilver and not the quicksilver 1. That being said, with cap1, it would be best to wait until your profile is stronger or youre going to get toy limits that won't grow.

Re: Capital One Question

I was approved for the QuickSIlverOne still having the Platinum Secured from them, so yes. Low limit on the QSO, but an extra $300 added to my available credit.

Re: Capital One Question

As stated previously, Cap1 is a fickle pickle when it comes to bucket limited cards. I would wait and let your secure card graduate and make sure your file is stronger before applying. Again, make sure that it is a Quicksilver and NOT a QuicksilverOne which is for limited or fair credit profiles and comes with an AF.

Re: Capital One Question

Thanks everyone!  I think I'm going to wait as suggested and I don't want another HP lol

Re: Capital One Question

Waiting is probably a good plan. Not to mention the fact that Cap One has a six-month rule. You can't get two of their cards within 6 months of each other. I don't know, though--maybe it doesn't apply to secured.

Re: Capital One Question

For whatever it's worth, though I got my own secured Platinum at the end of 2015 before Cap One started graduating secured cards (and therefore mine was never graduated), I got prequalified for and approved for a QS with $10K this past New Year's while the secured card ($951) was still open.
