During my app spree on the 30th of Oct, I back to back apped Cap1 VentureOne and Qs1. I have a fraud alert on my reports so I expected to recon. They needed me to fax some docs in to substantiate my identity. I did that last Tuesday and I called and confirmed they were received. But they told me the applications were under review and could be 3 weeks before they render a decision! DiscoverIt, AMEX, and Citi all approved me after calling me to substantiate my identity. Cap1 is crazy lol. It's no big deal because I don't immediately need the credit but it's just so weird how different they are from other major lenders. Anyone else have a similar experience?
Sorry OP, I just would recommend not never applying for credit with fraud alert on your credit reports. Especially when applying with creditors like Cap1 where their recons are black boxish anyways. good luck!

+1
So, I called in this AM and apparently even though I put BOTH application numbers on the cover page, they only added my info to the VentureOne and not the QS, so QS is still in pending status almost 2 weeks later and the Venture was declined because they couldn't read my address on the address verification info I sent in. But the CSR was helpful and said that if I refax info immediately he will send the VentureOne through for re-processing and I needed to fax the Qs1 info separate. And he reminded me that it could be another 3 weeks for a decision on both. LOL - this was the only credit card company I had before my app spree and they are giving me the hardest time. But good advice NOT to app with a fraud alert on your report! Now we wait 3 weeks again. Glad I called. They did not tell me this the other two times I called to check status.
