Capital One Venture One Invitation

Now I’m currently in the garden until minimum of April 2019. I received two invitations from Cap 1to apply for the QS 1.5 cash back rewards no AF card and the Venture One with 20k miles after 1k spend in first 3 months no AF card. The QS app went straight in the shredder once I read cap 1 HP’s all 3 of your reports and not looking to add any of their products to my financial portfolio.

Therefore, little to  no chance I will bite. I have the CSP but was curious about the hotel.com  feature of this card which is interesting and giving me pause. What’s your experience been with this card?  Are you still reaping value beyond the first year and were the 3 HPs worth it?

TIA

Re: Capital One Venture One Invitation

I have no issues with the card. Payment process quick, larger payments, plus $2000+ is placed on hold for a few days. Atleast for me.

If you travel a lot then, yes. Teaming up with Hotels.com is great and points go up fast, I think they are together till 2020. Rewards post to the account quick. Plus they have a alright sign up bonus (Cap 1). Overall, you have to decide if it worth 3 pulls. SL are nice. Scores were right around 680’s and was giving 10K.

I hope this helps satisfies your question.

Let us know if you App for it!
Good luck👍🏽

Re: Capital One Venture One Invitation

I plan to app for a Venture later this month.  Normally I'd caution anyone going for this card as it doesn't really provide long term value.  However, I have a planned stay I need to reserve and the $500 signup bonus plus 10% back on hotels.com makes it an ideal choice for this one thing.

If you use hotels.com a lot, I'd say get it just for that.  However, beyond that, 2% return for a $95 annual fee is crap value.

Yes I think for one time events, either card the non AF or the AF would be decent. I don’t use hotels.com much and rely on my Marriott RP in conjunction with Chase URs. I may look at hotel.com in the future to see if I would get a better deal but for now I am happy with my current cards for travel and hotel stays. Maybe that will change once I exit the garden next year 😋
