I'm interested in getting this card however I did burn capital one in the past with 2 charge offs. The 2 charge offs never went to collections. They stayed with capital one. I did pay both of the charge offs back in full and they are no longer showing on my credit reports. When I run the pre-approval on c1 website, it comes back with "due to past accounts with capital one that didn't show good behavior, we can't preappove you for any card". Not the exact wording but something like that.
I thought c1 is forgiving but maybe not? Fico scores are 750 and up across the board now. It's been over 2 years since the charge offs been paid and off my reports.
Do I have a chance at the venture X?
I would think not...."2 years" isn't that long ago...even though you paid them off...AND you're trying to apply for their top tier card.
When applying for a Cap1 card, they will usually double pull you as well. If you're looking for the travel benefits, you may have better luck looking into AMEX and using their pre-qual tool

Thank you for the feedback. I have the AMEX Gold already for the past 10 months along with Citi Custom Cash and Chase Freedom Unlimited so I do have some quality cards. Just wanted 1 for the priority pass lounge access and I don't want to pay for annual fee for AMEX platinum so C1 Venture X made the most sense for me especially with the credits to offset the annual fee.
Guess I need to wait a bit longer for them to forgive me 🙂
The AF for the CapX is $395 and you may be better off depending on your travel...if you really want PP...it's only $299. If eligible, upgrading your Chase FU to Sapphire Preferred ($95 Annual Fee) gives you PP membership...though US only lounges. Though you'll have to have had your Chase card over 1 year before upgrading

Thank I didn't know the prices for PP so this definitely helps. I am only at 10 months with CFU so have to wait a bit for the upgrade to CSP. Nice to have options though.

If you've never had the CSP don't pc to it apply for it. They are offering a very generous sub for it (80,000 points). It pairs nicely with the freedom that you already have, but definitely don't pc and miss out on the sign up bonus. You can check your chase account and see if you have a pre-qualify offer.

Yeah after going over everything yesterday, I'm going to hold off on applying for the CSP. I really want the Venture X so will hold off on applying for anything for a bit until I can get that card. If I can ever get it...
