My app from near first of the year went pending and then I went through EO and after nearly 2 weeks they told me it was declined but they could manually review it if I wanted and that was submitted last week... received a call this morning that they can't access EQ (it's frozen) and they will not decide on the app without access to it. I asked if they couldn't just go off the 2 reports they already had from EX and TU and she stated that they have to see all three for security. I called BS since many Cap1 (okay, not many) but some Cap1 cards do not pull all 3 and further more it should be a crime!
She said the underwriter asked for pin or temp unlock.
The issues:
1. I hate EQ with a passion to the core of my body, I want to sue them so bad, they are discusting.
2. my report is locked not frozen and I stopped my membership month ago, I called in to try to start my membership and it wouldn't go through... the guy spent at least 20 minutes with me on hold trying to manually unlock it and I kept getting e-mails on each of his attempts FAILED and he comes back and says this request will have to be sent to another department and will take 5-7 days!
I just about lost it... I was like I have been getting the e-mails that you were unable to do it also because of this terrible company and it's even worse computer system and something that should be instant like credit report access you can't even fix and you work at the company so what am I suppose to do as the consumer?!
it has to go to the tech department (mind you last time I couldn't gain access to my reports it took tech almost 2 months! cap1 gave me 5 days or the app will be cancelled.
he said it will not take longer than 10 days.
I just about told him off... I was like you said 5-7 and now you say 10... WORTHLESS, I HATE EQ, did I mention that already!?
he clearly can't do anything per usual and it had to be sent off... I dug up the email to the nasty EO office lady I have emailed with before but based on my previous experience with her she will send back some really stupid email and ill just scream and have to just wait for them to do what they have to do and get away with doing.
I have already filed complaints against them and I have not heard anything on that since EQ responded to the complaint with a canned stupid answer and I escalated to a full complaint to be investigated.
i hate to waste my 2 inq's for cap1 but I feel like even if they do get acess to EQ they will then just deny the app for all the issues that I have filed in my investigation about report practices ...
That's annoying.
and EO at EQ called me in response to my email and she was able to get the lock removed in about 2 minutes and told me to call back when cap1 accessed it to then place a freeze back on it for me. I'm still angry at capital one for requiring it and if im denied that anger will not fade but at least this was resolved quickly and i will place a freeze with pin next time so i don't have to call in.
