Capital One VentureOne upgrade

Hi all. I am wondering if it is possible to upgrade from the Capital One VentureOne card (no annual fee) to the Capital One Venture card (annual fee) and receive the sign-up bonus? Of course, I know I can just apply for the Venture card separately but I'd prefer to do an upgrade to appease Chase's 5/24 Gods. Does anyone have experience with this?

upgrading will not give you the sign-up bonus. That is only awarded for new apps

Yes, CapOne will occasionally offer an upgrade to the Venture.  Hop on chat and ask...if you don't have an offer just wait a little and try again.  There is nothing you can do to trigger the upgrade offer if it isn't there.  That's just how CapOne rolls.  As for getting the sign up bonus...you can't...even with an upgrade offer.  If you want the bonus the only way to get it is to apply for the card directly...which you've stated you don't want to do.
