Capital One Verification Question for a 78 yr old

My 78 year old aunt appliied for capital one card and they sent an e mail asking for verification.  The only ID she has with a picture is a passport. that expired two mouth ago.

Do you think it would be acceptable? she has all the other documents.Social secrity card, bank statement etc.

She just noticed it was expired while trying to do this application;

Re: Capital One Verification Question for a 78 yr old

An expired passport is not a valid, current form of ID. Since it often takes some time to renew a passport, I'd suggest she get a state ID card quickly and show that to Capital One.

They will have a limited window of time for her to complete verification, so this is why I suggest that she obtain a state ID card. She should be able to do so at her local driver's license office.

They should have provided a list of valid documents with the request. The expired passport may be acceptable...it's good for I9 employment verification. Can give them a call as well to see what your options are.

I second Humu's advice. It should be quick and fairly easy to get a state ID card.

BTW...expired passports are no longer acceptable (since 2014 I think) for I-9 verifications.
