I already did the PC. That's not my question. I'm asking if AFTER you PC, does that turn it into a higher tier card? Meaning if you had two Platinums and PC'd them both to no-AF QS's, do you now have two higher tier cards and could (if you wanted to) apply for another lower tier card?

Yes, they are considered higher tier.. I suppose you could apply for a lower tier card. Why would you want to? I would think you can let your Quicksilvers age and grow a little then shoot for the Venture or Quicksilver Siggy.
Just to be able to eventually combine limits in case I never get a CLI. People seem to get them left and right around here and I can't get one for any of my cards. I would like to have one single card with cap one at a decent limit.
ETA: I would just shoot for the QS visa (really want that one) but I thought it required Excellent credit and previous experience with high limit cards for a few years.
Current limits: QS1 300 / QS MC 500, had them since early September (both in credit steps, wanted to CLI before credit steps ends)
I PIF but will carry a balance this month to take advantage of 0% APR
I pay all of my bills with my cards for the rewards so it gets plenty usage
I hit the luv button a couple weeks ago. I get the message on both saying accounts too new. At least it's not a flat out denial for other reasons. I will try again maybe January or February, credit steps shouldn't end until Feb or March I think.
