Capitl one Quicksilver One vs Quicksilver

Hi I have had 2 capital one platinum for about 6 years and they were recently upgraded to quicksilver ones but still have those annual fees..I read that the captial one quicksilvers are for fair to good credit but i would prefer to have the normal Quicksilver with no annual fee now that my score is in the 700 ranges..my one quicksilver one has 0 balance and my second will have 0 balance this month..they each have about 2500 cl on since i had them from my former days of lower credit score..I dont think capital one will upgrade them again since i just did that..How do i go about getting those change to either one or two normal quickslivers..Is it safe to close them and applying for the other card? or what? thank youSmiley Happy

Re: Capitl one Quicksilver One vs Quicksilver

You have two options:

1. Apply for a regular QS. Once approved after 6 months, combine your two QS1 into your QS. This will give you one card with a nice limit.

2. Wait it out and continue to check with CO to see if you have any offers to upgrade to QS.

*Another option is to see if you can get the fees waived on your QS1. I'm not sure if they will permently waive them, you may have to call in every year.

Don't close them. Combine them. App for QS. Roll the new combined QS1 into the QS later.

Call and ask them if they can upgrade or combine into one. I have a qs1 and a platinum. They just upgraded the platinum for me to a qs. He said when i pay it off...just charged it up(small limit) i could combine my qs1 with it for just one card.

Re: Capitl one Quicksilver One vs Quicksilver

upgrades are like CLIs, you'll have to wait 6 months to get another. but as stated above, you could combine your cards for a higher limit and only have 1 with AF

Kind of surprised they took you to a QS1 only.  I think the lowest amount for a QS is $2500.
