Hi I have had 2 capital one platinum for about 6 years and they were recently upgraded to quicksilver ones but still have those annual fees..I read that the captial one quicksilvers are for fair to good credit but i would prefer to have the normal Quicksilver with no annual fee now that my score is in the 700 ranges..my one quicksilver one has 0 balance and my second will have 0 balance this month..they each have about 2500 cl on since i had them from my former days of lower credit score..I dont think capital one will upgrade them again since i just did that..How do i go about getting those change to either one or two normal quickslivers..Is it safe to close them and applying for the other card? or what? thank you
You have two options:
1. Apply for a regular QS. Once approved after 6 months, combine your two QS1 into your QS. This will give you one card with a nice limit.
2. Wait it out and continue to check with CO to see if you have any offers to upgrade to QS.
*Another option is to see if you can get the fees waived on your QS1. I'm not sure if they will permently waive them, you may have to call in every year.
Kind of surprised they took you to a QS1 only. I think the lowest amount for a QS is $2500.
thank you all so much! appreciate your help
Wow. I never heard of one with that limit. Learned something new. Thanks
Greetings All,
As another data point, my Platinum was at a $1500 limit when I PC'd to a QS.
