So I applied to capitol one soon after getting my first CC and on Feb 12, I got my denial letter by email.
Today I get another email from Capitol One and this is what it says,
"We’re looking at your application again.
Re: Reference Number XXX
Carguy87,
You applied for a credit card with us, and due to a processing error, we couldn’t approve your application. We’d like to have you as a customer, so we’re taking another look at it. While this doesn’t guarantee approval, we hope to give you good news.
We’re sorry for any confusion. We’ll send you an email or letter soon to let you know the decision."
So will they do another hard pull without letting me know? Can they do that?
I recently got my first CC, only had 1 month so far, and soon after I applied to Capitol One and was denied, I did the pre approval online and got 2 offers so I went for it but got denied. So there is one Hard Pull showing from Capitol One so far. I was advised by people here to wait 6 months before applying for others and that is what I was planing on doing but now wondering what my chaances are that will give me a CC card now since getting this email? Anyone else had this happen?
Thanks,

Thanks!
good luck!
Good Luck! I hope they approve you.
It shouldn't result in another hard pull, they will use the same pull.
I can't say for sure whether of not you will have another HP out of the deal but at this point you shouldn't worry about them. You need to build a credit file and with that comes HP's (unless you are using the SCT and that only gets you store cards). INQ's are part of the process and they don't really have a long term affect on your reports anyway.
I'd go back to the "what's in your wallet" site and app both the Platinum and QS1 back to back (assuming that you are approved for the 1st, go for the 2nd). These 2 CL's are worth their weight in gold for the rebuilder and having a couple of HP's to get them doesn't even compare with the advantage they will give you over the long run.
Read as many posts as you can about what to do with them (PC'ing the Plat to QS, early CLI's in the STEPS program & combine them into 1 QS after 6mths), run your normal, daily expenses through them and they will grow quite rapidly!!! Don't worry about maxing them out a few times a month but work within your budget to push them for better results. With your income you should use - pay- use - pay and only let 1 of them report a small (9% or less) balance every month.
Let us know hoe it goes...
