Captial One QuickSilver Email Apply Invite

I recently recived a Captial One QS apply inviation in the mail today, it has a reservation # and a access code to use to apply by 12/19.

Does the mail offer mean prequalification? Although no where does it meantion pre qualify or pre arroval , just mentaions benifits such as $200 back after $1000 Spend in 3 Months and 0%APR til 01/21.

Agreed. Check the website. The online prequal tool tends to be accurate. Good luck if you go for it!

Re: Captial One QuickSilver Email Apply Invite

Hi,

Welcome to the forum ! Read your other post. If you've just applied for a CapOne card in October, it's too soon for a 2nd card. Wait at minimum 6 months or even better a year. Also, when time, I agree you should check the website for approvals. The website has much better offers than those mailers that seem to be steps program cards. Since you are a student with a thin file vs rebuilding from derogs, best you take it slow and develop a long term strategic financial plan (1yr, 2yr, 5yrs).

You've already acquired a few cards this year, strong work, I would not app again until at minimum 1 year from your last approval. In the interim, at the six month mark, try for a soft pull (SP) credit line increase (CLI) on the cards you have. If a denial, that's ok too. SImply wait and you should receive an auto CLI at the 11-13 month mark. If not, you can try again for a CLI at month 14. Just be patient. No need piling on a bunch of unneccessary hard pulls (HP) on your credit reports.

I have a 30+ year history, have experienced ups and downs - my advice, learn from the forum but do not succumb to the app itch, it will only slow your overall process.

Good luck!
