Hi all, does the CareCredit preapproval tool work for the Mastercard version of the card if your credit profile supports it? I am pretty sure I qualify for it, but when I do the preapproval it only shows the non-Mastercard version for $10,000.
Anyone ever get a preapproval for the Mastercard?
I believe the only way to get the MC rewards version is you have to be a regular CareCredit card holder for a time, and be invited to upgrade to the MC version by Synchrony.
I have done the CareCredit pre-qualify before and it said I was pre-qualified for the Mastercard. I was going to take a screenshot and post it here, but I just went and tried it twice and it just said CareCredit Credit Card. No Mastercard... hmm...
CareCredit is not the best. I would explore other options first.

You should elaborate on your experience if you're going to make generic statements like this. A lot of medical offices, dentists, doctors, veterinary clinics, etc. take CareCredit financing exclusively. If I use a credit or debit card at my vet, they charge a 4% fee. If I use CareCredit there's no fee and I get the option of 0% financing if I want to pay my dog's exam fees and vaccinations over time.

I've been researching this card. According to WalletHub, the issuer determines which applicant gets which version:

But I found this CareCredit Mastercard webpage, that says it a little bit differently, "The easiest and fastest way to see if you prequalify is to use this link. You will be considered first for the CareCredit Rewards Mastercard and then for the CareCredit credit card."

It seems similar to how the Target RedCard vs MC works...
