Chance at QS or Venture with no AF?

Looking to see if you all think I could get approved for a QS or Venture. Not the one with the AF. Scores and Inq’s in my signature are current as of 2-22 and they are honestly probably a couple points higher now but I don't want to guess. Plus:

1 baddie (CO) from 6 years ago but reporting past due every month

Income $63K

Util 9%

TCL 27k (actually 47k but the increases don't show yet)

8 new accounts in the last 2 months

AAoA 4 yrs 3 mos

Mortgage that has lates over 2 years ago

About 5 car loans all paid off except my current one. All of them = Never late.

I have 1 QS1 that just transitioned from Platinum to QS1 3 months ago. $0 of $1750 limit used

I have 1 new QS1 that is about to cut its 5th statement. $1063 of $2150 limit used

I have 1 Spark Classic $0 of $500 limit used

I am not itching to app, I am just curious since the Pre-qualifier shows nothing and hasn’t for a long time. Both my QS's have $3k in payments last month alone. I am more curious as to what might be hurting me the most.

i would wait about 4-6 months only due to the 8 new accounts (honestly i would just wait until they hit a year) and then you should be good IMO

So you think its just the new accounts?

Re: Chance at QS or Venture with no AF?

hard to determine exactly based on the fact i am not cap1 but that would be a reasonably educated assumption based on data points of common denial reasons

Excellent. Thanks for taking a stab at it. I should note that I have never been denied by them but these cards I want are above my usual level with them. I have not app'd and don't intend too right now. I have my theory as to why they would say no, just wanted to see if I was on the right track.

I could never get CapOne to show a prequal for for the Venture cards...cold app'd for both of my VentureOne cards as well as my Venture.  It was risky but it worked out each time.  YMMV.

I would do that if I didn't think they would give me a $500 SL. lol On a good note my APR with them is 16% so maybe they would throw me that bone atleast.

With 8 new accounts in 2 months, I think it would definitely not hurt to take a break for 6 months before applying for anything else.

Re: Chance at QS or Venture with no AF?

I thought minimum SL for venture was 5k. Why didnt you pc from platnum to QS instead of QS1? My wife just did it after 1 statement. I am considering doing it as well if someone can tell me that CLI is better on a prime card.

I asked, they told me it wasn't available to me.
