Chance of being approved for Sapphire Preferred-Update: denied

I recently applied for the CSP and received an email saying I’ll know Chase’s decision by U.S mail and it can take up to 30 days. I’ve read some posts on here and usually people say thats good thing but I don’t want to get my hopes up. Here are some background details that might help
-1 year 8 months of credit history
-3 credit lines
-income between 32k-35k
-100% on time payment history
-Credit score 730 on Trans and Equifax
-Not a chase member(hopefully this doesn't ruin my chances)

Got the denial letter and was denied because
-Oldest revolving acct has not been opened long enough
-insufficient credit info
-too few accounts on file for a sufficient length of time

Re: Chance of being approved for Sapphire Preferred

If those are true FICO scores and absent any other info, I’d say your odds of approval are good. You could always call and check app status and likely get the decision over the phone much sooner. Banking “relationship” isn’t critical with Chase. I was approved for CSP and Freedom before I ever opened a checking and savings account with them.

Backdoor Numbers

Reach out to the app status/analyst number to see where along your application is.

From what you've stated, I would say you have a 50-50 chance in getting approved, the only issue I see is that the income might be a concern, that might lead to a low starting SL.

Scores - All bureaus 770 +

Called the application status line and got the “2 week message”. Is that generally a good thing?

2 weeks is okay, just not 7-10 day message.

Checked the status and it has been changed from 2 weeks to 7-10 days. Looks like I’ve been denied

OP, you could contact them directly using the BD# to find out or wait for the letter and go from there.
