Cap1 pre-quals are not always solid, but grats to the OP!
My FAKO on CreditKarma dropped 9 points.
Is that about what I can expect, or will it drop more soon?
It shouldn't matter much. I'm just curious.
Also, it does look like it doubled the hard pulls. Maybe I just didn't apply close enough together?
ETA: 4 hours, in case anyone is wondering
I applied about 1 minute apart or less & got double 3x pull. It's just YMMV.

Might've helped if you'd apped minutes apart rather than 4 hours. No biggie though. The inquiries will fade soon enough. Grats on the double approval!
Yeah. Oh well. The only other hard pull on my credit probably will be completely gone in a year (we applied and were approved for a home loan last December, then opted to continue to rent - 3% interest with my husband's credit still a little weak too!). We do intend to look a buying a car within the next little while, but it could be as long as 2 years, and we'll likely pay cash anyway.
Now I just have to decide if I want to apply for a USAA card in my husband's name, and when I should plan on canceling the secured card....
Just thought I'd update for anyone who is curious. The double HP was showing on my report via CreditKarma the day of, but it's posted as a single HP now. The FAKO stayed the same, but the actual report is less dramatic.
Ouch. Thanks for the heads up

That's good! Sometimes they both appear at first, but the credit bureau's assume that it was an accidental double pull I think, and eventually delete the second one.
And by the way, sign up for Navy Federal Credit Union!!!! in my opinion they are the best, and better than USAA!
I would go for a credit card AND a checking line of credit!
I think it'd be a hard sell to my husband. I tried to convince him we should get a Navy Federal secured card, instead of USAA, because if I remember correctly it wouldn't have had an annual fee and may have earned rewards? but he wouldn't go for it. He's oddly loyal to USAA...
I have to ease him into change, and the next one I want to work on is moving the bulk of our savings into a higher yield savings account. USAA's interest rate for savings accounts is horribly low.
I was actually very surprised at how amenable he was to the credit cards...
