Chase 2 week message

So after applying for the CSP I received an email stating that I would be notified in 30 days. However when I call the automated line it says "you will be notified in writing in 2 weeks" do you guys think this is an approval or denial ?

Type "Chase 30 day message" into the search. There's been lots of talk about this on the boards lately. I too am waiting under the 30 day message. I apped on 12/15.

These days, that can mean anything with Chase.  What were your scores at the time you applied and how many new accounts did you have?  Do you any negatives also on your reports?

My scores are 724 ex and 721 TU with one negative on each report. In the last 24 months I've applied for 3 cards 4 if you count the CSP. I also got my student loans for school which are deferred right now until I finish school which would make 5 HPs and 4 new accounts out of those 5 HPs. I've read a small bit about the 5/24 rule.

Anecdotally the two week message leads to approvals on automated line. Ymmv of course but here's my story:

FICO 689 (at time of APPING, thought it was higher but their pull was 689 - now over 700)
Last baddie: 2 years ago, analyst asked about them - they were on student loans that were supposed to be in deferment
UTIL 27%
LOTS of inquiries
Quite a few new accounts

Applied 12/24 n went pending so I called analyst, who received my report for 10 minutes and came back recommending approval - but had to send for final approval.

12/24-12/29 "Two week message"

12/29 Automated like changed to "You've been approved!"

Seems that 90% or better who get this are aproved :-)

So my Chase Marriott Premier looks like its gonna be a denial. After 20 days pending, the automated message changed from "30 days" to "7-10 days." Im on the line with Lending now...figure I've got nothing to lose at this point. I travel alot for work and stay at Marriott hotels exclusively, so it would be nice. We'll see, but I'm not optimistic.

I would've advised against calling, even if you "felt" it was about to be denied; a few members on here have come out with an approva after the 7-10 day notice. Sorry about the denial though.
