Hello MyFicoer's, I'll finally be under 5/24 in a few days for the first time. Does Chase go by the open date of the account, or do I need to wait till the next calendar month?
Post people recommend waiting until the next month (the month after the account was opened). That means, if your oldest account that is impacting 5/24 is from late May 2021, then June 1st 2023 is fine but if it was early June 2021, most people seem to recommend waiting until July 2023
I have a tag-along question: is the pertinent date/month for x/24 the day the account opens or the day that the new credit line hits your credit reports?
I'm pretty sure it is the date of openning and the first day it reporting is usually a month later. It would be great if someone more experienced on the forums could confirm.
Any new credit card, regardless of when it finally reports, whether it be 30 days, or 60 days after you were approved, still reports based on the date it was opened. So, technically when your talking about 5/24, it should come off on the 2 year anniversary of when it was opened, most of the time it's the 1st of the anniversary month. For the best of odds of not burning a HP (if your care) in vain, and being for sure 4/24 is to check your reports, or wait, as suggested until the following month.
In my case it was very apparent when Chase noticed my x/24 status. No preapprovals for ~1yr and roughly 30-50 days after my calc of being under 5/24 their website opened the gate with all sorts of preapproval offers.
Eh, it'll give me time to do some cleanup and raise my score. I'll wait till the calendar rolls over to next month just to make sure. Thanks all!

IMHO you need to wait until the next calendar month
