Applied for it on May 9th, got the denied message and have not received anything in the mail stating why it was denied.
I still have time to recon, should I? I'm thiking the denial was due to Ch7. Nothing else bad in my reports.

Hi:
It could be your Chapter 7, your income, too many recent inquiries, too many revolving accounts, carrying balances on your cards (i.e. not following the all zero except one rule "AZEO." There are lots of complaints online about people with good credit on FICO getting denied this card.
It is common for banks to have thier own "rules" with regards to credit. For instance, Chase does not use FICO Scoring. They use something called a Credit Acquisition Risk V2. I applied in March with a 685 FICO Score, and 6 late payments in my payment history, was approved for a $5,000 limit, but recieved a card with a higher $7500 limit. According to the Chase Credit Acquisition Risk V2, my credit was 729 - significantly higher than my FICO Score of 685.

This is interesting. I don't have a Chase account so I am not aware of their process, although I have been debating on whether I should apply for their Amazon card in December. I wonder what weighs heavily on their Acquisition risk score. Length of Credit History, Number of recently opened accounts, Income, negatives. It would be nice to know, as that would really help those who would consider applying for a Chase account. I have not even dared with Chase since I know my profile is not to their level just yet. But I do think you should call recon to find out the reason for denial.

Update:
1. Called and was put on hold for 30 minutes them music in the background stopped playing and heard a robot lady say “good bye” lol. They disconnected me!
2. Called back and chose the “application status” option and said it was under review.
3. Called the EO office (didnt know) then nice lady transferred me to CSR. This was not the analyst i was hoping for. She was clueless and i said thank you then i hanged up.
4. Call EO office again, this time i meant it lol. Nice gentleman apologized and opened a case number. Took my info and said he would call me back with a resolution.
