Chase Amazon Prime Declined

I decided to pull the trigger on the Amazon Prime card ahead of Prime day and was declined. I do have a prior BK from just over 6 years ago.

I called for a recon and after the review was still declined. Turns out that my old Washington Mutual card was now part of Chase (forgot they had bought them). Lesson learned that in this case need to wait until it is completely off.

Additional data points EX 710, EQ 721, and TU 721. Overall utilization at 37%

Haven't got any alerts yet so not sure which they pulled.

My WAMU was over 7 years old, fell off all reports, and Chase still remembers

What I hate about Chase is that they will still pull your reports even though you are on their blacklist

Whats even worse is that they will double pull you also

I would love to protest my HP with Equifax. If you are on a blacklist, then pulling your reports is vendictive

Chase pulled EX for me last month and it took a couple days to hit my report.

Sorry to hear about this difficulty. It's things like this that make me really think that it would just be more honest for Chase to say upfront that if you've had a bankruptcy within the past 10 years and/or if you've had one of their products included in said bankruptcy, you might as well not waste your time applying to them.

For sure.  I've heard about some having success in getting co-branded cards with an old BK and had i connected WaMu to Chase I wouldn't have gone for it.  I thought me banking with them for the last 8 years, strong income with direct deposits, etc. would have helped.  All good - I was just looking to save another 5% next week so was worth the inquiry (It's my only one).
