Apped for Chase Amazon Visa and called backdoor number to check status. Rep answered and reviewed my application. Initially stated it was denied for high limits on other cards. Current Payment I have have not posted yet. I told the rep the amounts showing have not yet been updated to show a significant drop in my utilization but he wasnt budging. He also checked my Chase checking account to see payments tomy credit cards but I made most of the payments from my credit union account. (He sounded a but irked that I didnt use my chase account. ) It sounded like if my lower utilization showed, he would have approved me on the recon but since he couldt verify, he didnt. Should I recon again, hopefully with a better rep or wait for my utilization to post on my credit report. I use Amazon alot so the card is worth the inquiry for me.
So I should wait for balances to update and recon or reapply? How long can I wait to reapply?

I'd call again and hope that you will have better luck with a different CSR.
LOL, Tried again and had a lady who pulled my application and immediatly let me know a recon was already done with my application. She did ask a few questions and asked as well if I paid down some of my bill using my chase account. Almost as if I had, it would have been approved on Recon..I'll just pay down my stuff and call back, She said my app is good for 30 days so I will pay down my utilization with my chase and see what happens. I hate to waste an inquiry if I an not dead out of the race.
If you're an Amazon shopper, have you looked into Sallie Mae? It'll be another inquiry but gives 5% back on Amazon (up to $750/month). But if you decide to try another recon once your payments are reflecting, good luck!
