TL;DR, I app this afternoon and didn't get the rose, and recon sent me home.
I applied this afternoon and got an instant denial. I burned Chase (it was a Wamu card) in 2008 but the charge off was small and already off my reports so I thought that was the reason of denial.
I called recon to see for sure what it was since I didn't want to wait for the letter in 30 days. Lol The rep said it was that my oldest revolver is too new which is true my card is just 6-months old.
I asked anything else caused the denial and she said no and to try again when my oldest revolver card is a year old.
I guess Chase isn't holding a grudge anymore and at least now I know where I stand with them.
Update: They pulled EQ and just one pull. I would have hated a double pull for a denial.
Chase likes to see 1 year history. Try when you oldest CC becomes as a year as the analyst suggested.

Idk.. I would wonder if the old WaMu account is still being held against you, no matter what you are being told. Yes, it aged off of your reports. But I'm sure it hasn't aged off of Chase's internal reports
They never age off of Chase's internal file.. I had another bank card from 1990's that chase bought it was a PAID CO from the 90's, never get instant approvals due to that from Chase. Everything has to be looked at by manual UW. I have alot of Chase credit now, but it flags every one of my applications for manual review. Talked to an UW once about it and sure enough he stated there would never be an instant for me due to this even though my internal score with them and regular FICO's are fine. I haven't been declined a chase card for years, but never instant. Usually just wait a day or two then it shows up on account.

+1 CC gave really good input. Don't be discouraged. Many of us here in the forum have creditors who are not that interested in us because of past history. Sounds like you have a good beginning! Good luck to you!
My FU got approved for $500 when my Disco was $600 secured and only 7 months old. Nothing else on my reports aside from a couple HP's. *shrugs*

All reports are different.. As always YMMV as well as the UW you are speaking with if you do.

Thank you! I'm going to let my current credit cards aged and grow, and if I want the card next year, I'll try again.
I burned Chase around 10 years ago for very high 4 figures in a chargeoff.
Got instant approval for Chase FU 2 months ago, albeit for only $500. Saw the preapproval green checkmark on my Chase login and took it. Approval came up around 30 seconds later. FICO was around 630 or so.
