Don't take it personally. Chase simply doesn't budge on APR, whether the account has been opened a day or ten years.
As for Amazon, I think like any other shopping, you should do your homework and compare prices especially on large purchases. Don't just assume Amazon is the best deal. I also think the 5% reward can definitely encourage excess spending.
For me time is money and amazon saves me a ton of time although might be able to beat the price other places on occasions. So Amazon is extremely valueable for me. Also with Chase INTERNAL SCORE means everything to them IMO. I have meh credit still some old paid CO's and late payments although 6+ years old so about to fall off, but been with chase for 4 years now and currently have 4 cards with them. My Freedom my first card with them had the worse apr and now with more recent cards I have gotten with them with a slew of new acccounts and tons of inquiries I always get their best APR. This is why I think internal score plays a huge role on what apr you get with them. I put a decent amount of spend through chase a year approx 30k+ so that might also play a factor on my internal score as well. Granted rewards cards should never have a balance carried. Although I suppose if one ever needs to they should have the best terms possible.
I personally don't think 5% back encourages expense spending as many things I want from their hello OLED 65 inch tv and I make a very good living, but I am cheap as anything and hate parting with my hard earned money and rather max out my 401k and IRA's, etc. Although I can see how some people could fall for overspending. I simply don't buy anything I can't pay cash for it is that simple ![]()

For me personally Amazon and Walmart are extremely valuable. Very cost effective since i get amazon gift cards from my penfed travel amex points. Plus my husband enjoys purchasing TONS of mp3s as he is a musician and prime works out just perfect. I make cash back from amazon chase anywhere between 8 to 15$ a month which can be used towards other purchases.
I enjoy shopping online for my household and it works out great to have things delivered to the door and to be able to browse and choose , price match and free return with ups pick up options etc. Refunds are amazingly quick and there is a lot of varieties to choose from and try. I mostly buy pet stuff , feels like im running shelter here .lol!
I bought from amazon the very same toys that were listed in the overpriced TOYS R US booklet, for less price and i got almost all the toys (christmas list) my step daughter had circled on the booklet. So the entire christmas purchase for her was covered by a 200 amazon gift card that i redeemed using penfed travel amex reward points this month.
I also got a great deal on a outdoor heatpad and a kittytube for a feral cat that hangs out in our back porch in bitter cold ,got a great price on amazon for that as you cant find kittytube in petsmart or petco etc .
( btw that cat is sleeping snug in the kittytube on a warm heatpad
as i write )
So yeah for some of us Amazon and Walmart work out just perfect and super convenient. I love using amazon 5% cards and walmart 3% master card (with nfcu membermall combo i get 5%) So, i am happy to have both of these options availble.
Btw i also PIF so apr does not matter , i have both amazon chase and amazon store card , so for anything above 150 i have special financing available.
Op, May be you should try for amazon store card if you like to use special 0% financing?
Thanks all. I'm just not feeling it from Chase anymore thats all (***I may just add Chase to the sock drawer***). I guess I was hoping it would have been my Unicorn before hitting that Garden. Maybe I'm trying to compartmentalize (ie Chase Amazon Prime CC only at Amazon) my spending too much..... Where's that Garden I keep hearing about? LOL.
All of my cards are kept at 0% util as I don't like to carry balances $$. The Premium cards have more costs to them like more AF's, higher % rates and so on, I just could't justify this one particular % rate. However, maybe I didn't waste an HP entirely... Chase moved my approved $5k SL to my CSP Bringing my CSP CL from $13.9 to $18.9....

I just logged into my PenFed account and tried their Fico Scoring and it says im at a 811. How accurate is this?

It's accurate, it's your FICO 9 score as of 9/12/17

@CramEiko wrote:@today I applied for the Chase Amazon Prime card. I got approved for $5k @ 23% and some change. I was like whaaaa? I'm not sure if you guys know this but after I tried to see if there was any reconsideration available on % Rates and got the "There's nothing we can do" (I tried asking all the way up to management) I called the number on the back of my Chase SP card. The CSR moved the newly opened Amazon Prime card $5000 CL to my SP card and close my Amazon card instantly. Though I run my cards at 0% Utilization, 23% apr just doesn't work for me.
I wonder if the $70 will still remain on my Amazon Prime account? Hmmmm
In my experience this is my personal 2x strikes with Chase. One more I'm out. Though I must say that the reps on the SP side were very nice.
I kind of like the card, for making purchases. I would never use it for anything else and I would never carry a balance with it.

@SouthJamaica - Yah, I didn't even notice that. Weird since I checked it 11/18. My mortgage and a NFCU credit card has been added since then... Hopefully it hasn't suffered too bad by now
EQ/EX are strong great but my TU is weak. I belive Chase pulled TU.

So with chase can you move credit lines instantly then? I thought there was a min age to the donor account but I think I'm confusing the worth Amex.
If so this is good news for my long term plans with chase
Can move them instantly up to leaving 500 on the card you close if you close one. Chase is extremely easy to move limits with. Not even sure if they SP you to move limits around. I have never had an issue probably the easiest lender to do so with.
