Chase Amazon card

Just applied for this card. Wasn't instantly approved. I know my credits not the greatest. But I've had a checking and savings acct with chase for over 3 years, have to regular cc, and 3 store cards. My oldest cc is 3 years. I'm wondering if my recent name change has anything to do with it? I got married in August and just finally went to the ss office and got my name changed.

+1.  That is likely the culprit and may be a verification issue.  Hopefully, you get approved.

What do I say when I call? I've never even heard of recons until I started reading on this site a few weeks ago. Do I threaten to close my checking and savings and completely take my business else where?! Lol

No, don't do that. I don't think credit analysts would care if you did that anyway. Don't ask to be reconsidered upfront. Just ask if you can verify any information with them and say that you would like to know the current status of your application and go from there. If you are denied, they should respond with a pretty legitimate reason and then you can make your claim.
