I will be 2/24 in January 2026. I would like to apply for IHG Premier, World of Hyatt & Sapphire Preferred. The question is what the best strategy to apply for those cards.
Sometimes Sapphire Preferred has bonuses for applying in-branch. If there's a branch near you where you can apply in person, it might be worth the trip.
I know at one time they waived the first-year annual fee for applying in branch. I didn't get that deal, but I did get an extra 10k points for going in to apply. Other people who applied around the same time as me got a similar deal.

How many months should I wait to apply for the 2nd Chase credit card after the 1st approval. I just opened a checking account last week on Friday through a branch after no luck through online after many attempts through the year. In the past about four years ago had an issue with Chase to verify my idenity by naming two extra addresses when I applied for Chase Amazon Visa. Chase cards are the ones I want since as they will be my end of my credit journey. Do co brand Chase cards fall in the 5/24 rule, I know that Amazon is not one of them.
I don't know.
I do know that 5/24 is not the brick-wall barrier that it once was. I believe Amazon was the first crack in the wall. Maybe some other co-branded cards don't worry much about 5/24. Even on the Chase core cards like the Sapphire Preferred, being 5/24 or more may not be an absolute "no." It may be that it's a strike against you, but they'll consider what the rest of your credit report looks like before making a decision.
