Hey guys,
Question here about potentially being blacklisted by Chase.
I disputed a Chase CC chargeoff a few months ago (balance $500 and CL $8k) and they deleted it on all 3 of my reports as if it was never there. I've had prior credit cards and loans through Chase that are all in perfect standing (on time, never late, closed).
I currently don't have any offers on the PreQual site. Do you think I might be blacklisted from Chase (internal reports)? Or might the 0 offeres be due to the rest of my report?
Baddies: All 3yo
2 Citi CC chargeoffs, paid, balance $0, closed
2 CU Repo/Loan chargeoffs, balance reporting monthly, closed :/
1 Medical Collection (reporting on EX and TU only)
FICO8 (Current): EX-635(4 inq), TU-644(5 inq), EQ-678(4 Inq)
AAoA: 5.4yrs
Util: 2%
0 Late payments in the last 3 years
Multiple Installment loans all in perfect standing (opened and closed)
Cards/Limits in my signature
Thanks in advance
Chase relies heavily on it's internal scores. The C/O might be deleted fro myour reports but still in their system. Chase tends to have a long memory. The only way to find out is to apply and see what happens.
How can you have Charge-Off credit cards with no late payments? That really doesn't make sense.
To answer your question if you burnt Chase recently for $500 your odds are pretty bad to get another card this soon with them.. Probably looking at 7+ years and most likely a verbal reconsideration to be considered.

Thanks. I was hoping that wasn't the case, but I guess I'll have to apply and see

Those charge-off credit cards were closed 3 years ago and since then I haven't made any late payments on any open accounts if that clarifies things. And I hope that 7+year figure isn't true :/
As mentioned above, I guess I'll go ahead and apply to see what comes of it. For anyone in my position, I'm going to apply next month after my Credit Reports update and then I will report back to this thread with results
Thanks for the replies guys/gals

Mid 600 is denial territory for clean records with Chase. See if you can get those scores to climb a little bit.
Is there a specific card you want from Chase, if some cards have weaker underwriting you would go for that one to get back in?
As said before just because it fell off your report doesnt mean Chase got rid of its record of that charge off. what happens is other lenders won't see it anymore. In my personal experience TransUnion got clean, Experian has not. That is why synchrony loves me and US Bank and Bank of America… not even.
Thanks for the info. I was thinking of the Chase Freedom? I'm waiting til next month to apply because that's when 2 of my chargeoffs update. As of now, I've got 48% utilization because these chareoffs were revolving and had been updating monthyl until I recently settled them, so my utilization will go down to 2% and hopefully that gives me about 10-20 more points (crossing fingers.
Any idea which other cards I should try for? Right now i'm just looking to add another card, but not sure which one. I've only got a CapOne QS at $2.5k. I just want to put myself in the best position I can be about 7 months from now because I'm looking to get an auto loan then. How about Discover IT or Barclay's MC or Nasa FCU? I'm hoping I can get a card with a SL of at least $3kl. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions

Did yo pay back chase or settle? Because if you didn't they won't even give you a chance. And if you also didn't they might extend your wait time because of when you paid them back.
Hey, no I didn't pay or settle. I had disputed the amount owed via equifax. And then 2 weeks later, for some strange reason, the account was deleted from all 3 of my credit reports. Don't know how or why, but I know the account is gone.
That's why I wasn't sure about the blacklist :/ But now that you guys are saying they keep internal accounts, then I'm feeling less confident. What do you think about that?
Do you have a Chase checking or savings account? If yes, you may have a greater chance of success by going into your branch and having a rep run the app for you. If no, then probably safer to pass on Chase right now.
Discover-it is a good card. No AF, points and point match for the first year.
