Agreed, perhaps I wasn’t clear in my recommendation.  I recommend the OP go to a branch, pay off the CO and establish a new relationship (checking or sav

Do not think the OP wants to pay back the CO.....

I wasn't referring to that CO in particular, rather the remaining CO's for $3k+

That amount is even worse. Sorry.

Re: Chase CC C/O Deleted: Can I Reapply for CC?

Thank you all for your advice.

I can take the hit on an inquiry. So knowing I'm possibly blacklisted due to an internal record, I'm still going to apply for the Chase Freedom Card next month (as well as the Discover IT). My chances may be slim, but I won't know for sure unless I try. Besides, I don't actually require anything credit related until about 7 months from now (I'll need an auto loan) and by then a few of my current inquiries will have fallen off.

If I do get denied from Chase, I'm going to go into the a local office and try to set up an account as suggeste earlier. If need be, I'll try to scrape up some change and pay the 'internal' $500 C/O, talk with a credit officer, and go from there.

I'll update this thread about a month from now

Thank you all again for your advice and insight, I really really appreciate it!

Re: Chase CC C/O Deleted: Can I Reapply for CC?

Just remember since you settled your Citi C/O only a few weeks ago your credit report is still going to report late for every month until it was settled. Discover isn't too friendly with recent charge offs. You're right you won't know for sure until you apply, but based on the experience of forum members and their experience you won't be approved for discover with C/O only being paid a few weeks ago, high utilization and your score range. The same goes for chase anyone else for the time being. Credit is a marathon not a sprint. Let your accounts ago, lower your utilization and then let some of those inquiries fall off.

There is no rush to app or hold those cards. They will be there for the taking when the time is right.

Ahh, thank you for that, I wasn't aware about the way they'd report it. I really appreciate your advice. Thanks again everyone for all the help. Hoping I'm in a much better position a year from now!

Re: Chase CC C/O Deleted: Can I Reapply for CC?

I had over a 36k private student loan from chase that I disputed and they closed it in 2013. They sent me a 1099 the following year and I opened a chase freedom less than 6 months later with a $4500 limit. Now I haven't been able to get an auto cli in over a year but they did just give me a slate. However, they will not allow me to have a checking account. They recently closed the one I opened with no real reason given and sent me a check for my balance in my checking account but left the credit card alone.
