As of today, a new account fell off my credit reports and when I logged into my Chase Checking account, something new appeared, which I have never seen before (never having been 4/24 while having an account with Chase before).
Note: this is something new in different, that I see each time I log in. In the past there was some kind of generic 'Find a Credit Card that's right for you' link in Credit Journey that I'm pretty sure was an invitation to be declined, as I was over 4/24 till now.
When I click Find my offers link I get a page that has most of Chase's core CCs, Freedom cards, Premium Select, travel cards, Edge, etc.
Under each of the suggested cards is a 'More Info' button and when I click those it gives me the details, with APR interest rates expressed as ranges. At the bottom each card's 'More Info' page is a prefilled application asking for my gross income and an 'Apply' button.
Chase got rid of it's pre-approval pages fairly recently, and so far as I know, the only pre-approval page related to Chase credit cards is the one for the Amazon (Prime) Visa card.
What I'm wondering is, is the kind of 'invitation' I get (shown above, from my Checking account home page) as good as it gets right now? It kind of feels like 'spin the bottle', not particularly reassuring, though it did appear for the first time ever just when I went to 4/24, so that might mean that their system has analyzed my credit and considers me likely to be approved?
Should I wait to see if Chase improves it's pitch or perhaps sends something on paper with a more solid looking offer? Is anyone still getting mailers offering pre-secreened credit from Chase?
Incidently I was surprised to find that I am currently pre-approved for a Chase Amazon Visa Prime card. That happend about a month ago, which I was still 5/24. I haven't decided what if any Chase card to apply for but I don't know if I'll be 4/24 again for a while.
Does anyone have a sense of my chances of approval for one of the flagship cards (based on the semi-sorta quasi offer from my Checking account) vs odds for the pre-approval for the Amazon card. Again, should I just wait a while and see if they offer something clearer (stared 'just for you' offer or something like that from Credit Journey)?
thanks kindly for any replies
I'm no Chase expert, but from all the DPs I've read around here, the only true preapprovals are those that show up with the "green or black checkmark" in your online banking portal. Anything else is NOT any sort of offer, IMO.

That's nothing; it's just marketing.
If you're waiting for a preapproval, that's not it.
Thanks so much all, clear as crystal. I'm going to hold off on applying for now, but still considering Amazon Visa.... I think the UW is a little more lenient and that might be the best option for a first CC with Chase. And for that I have a clear cut pre-approval (which doesn't mean that they'll approve me, but @FinStar has noted that Amazon pre-approvals are 'pretty solid' (or something to that effect, correct me if I'm wrong). Plus it's a metal card!
One follow up question: I've never had any credit of any kind with Chase. I have a checking account, that's it. Does anyone know if Chase ever provides those black/green check 'Just for you" offers to people who have a checking account but no credit history with Chase? I've had the account for 2+ years, over 5/24 the whole time of course, so I have had no expectation of receiving any offers. But if I wait, am I likely going to be waiting for eternnity?

1. Yes they provide them for Chase checking customers who have no credit accounts with Chase.
2. I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be approved for a Chase card of your choice; I don't think you need to wait for a preapproval. You should just apply for the card you want.

Thanks for the encouragement @SouthJamaica

@Oops_I_Did_It_Again - correct on the Amazon Visa pre-approvals, if an offer is available and provided no significant profile or creditworthiness changes have occurred from the time the offer was made.
So, to recap, don't read too much into it as far as what Chase may display on your dashboard since they change marketing tactics frequently. And, as mentioned by OmarGB9 upthread, unless you see any black star/green star ribbon pre-approved offers whether in 'Just for you' or the Credit Journey offers section, then anything else is just marketing.
