I want to redo my credit cards I use regulary -- I have 3 cards BOA Platinum (12yrs) and Amex Gold and Platinum Traditional (33yrs). I have grown disenchanted with AMex espcially the Platinum card as its benefits seem to get less and less each year.
Step 1 Applied for Chase Sapphire Preferred online which was approved instantly for 25K. Now I would like to apply for Freedom and INk PLUS awards -- this will give me the suite of cards that could replace what I have had for 30 yrs.. I use the Platinum right now for Business and the GOld for Personal -- The BOA only for larger purchases when I need a month or an extra few weeks to pay it all off.
How should I proceed. Which card next and how long between cards. My preference is not diminish the CSP card by trading CL to the other two cards. How much head room do I have with Chase -- while I am a customer of JPMorgan Client Services -- I have not had a relationships with Chase for 12+ years.
We can't tell you that. We don't know the details of how Chase determines its internal limits. You are only going to find out by applying if they tell you that you'd need to reallocate to open the new card.
Which and how long is really up to you and your credit. I was instantly approved for 2 Chase cards within a day of each other but YMMV.
First thing to do is, check the Chase Pre Qualify Site. It is very solid

I did the Chase prequal site. I did not prequal. I applied and got the Marriott card. A few days later I applied and got the CSP.
Never rely on prequals. People like to post here that "X is solid" and "Y is not" but a prequal is never a guarantee.
I tried the chase pre qual. but it says, unable to locate any offers. what does this mean and how can i make it straight?
how soon can we app a new chase card?. i got my freedom last Oct,2014.

I've seen some people apply for a second card the very same day. It's totally up to what you need and your credit profile. It's been six months though so if you really want a new card it wouldn't hurt to do it now.
I agree. you need not worry of a pre qual. in your case. as you already stated you have had just 1 amex 33 years. what the hell. im certain. your scores are well over 800 and they pretty much will give you what ever you want. regardless of pre qual. as long as your income can support it. good luck.
