She instantly reviewed and said all looks good except that you had a delinq. a/c with chase long time ago and i said it is too old and i haven't heard anything about it...if chase where to take any due on that 10 year old a/c with me i'd pay...blah blah blah...she put me on hold fo rabout 2 minutes, came back and said...i am approved for 1,500 with a condition...it will have to be reviewed by a senior analyst.
Oh well...you never know.

Hmm. I tried to get them to say that them asking for address verification meant that I would probably be approved but it seems they take that recorded line thing seriously cause I couldn't get them to say anything of the sort. They were worse than a politician on meet the press. I couldn't get any sort of commitment out of them at all but at least I'm still in the game. The very seemingly randomness of it is why it pays to keep calling back. Hopefully sooner or later you will get the "right" person.
I just recently applied for Chase Sapphire Preferred and was given the "Additional review required..." bit, but after a call to the number provided - the day after, mind you - I was approved (after answering some questions) for 5K. No hassle, no worries. Also, the reason for the call was because I was too impatient to wait 7-10 days, LOL! Anyhow, this is a great new addition to my wallet, and I wish the best of luck to those that are considering any Chase product! Thanks again!
Lastly, myFICO is a great service, I hope to make the most of it in order to better my creditworthiness.

So I applired for the sapphire preffered yesterday and got the 7-10 day wait. I called the backdoor number and the CSR intially said he could get my a manual review but then he was unable to do anything because it was still in review. I guess he meant the auto review hadn't done anything with it?. Anyone know what this means?
These are the best and easiest people to every work with.
Well I applied for and was instant approved for a Sapphire card for 5k. I was looking for around 7.5k instead, more in line with my other cards. I noticed on the confirmation email from Chase it said that I could speak with a representative about the credit limit if it did not meet my needs when I called to activate the card. So I did just that, and she said no. Out of curiosity today I was searching on here for an app status site or number and found this backdoor number and called to see why they turned me down. She said it was because the time it was opened was to short (so apparently the rep on the activation line just did a standard request). I explained to her that I needed a higher limit to accommodate my monthly charges and so that I did not need to worry about paying it off before the statement close date to avoid them reporting a maxed card. She asked if I wanted to have the request reprocessed and I said yes please. She inquired about several of my other cards, how much I paid on them and why they had a balance (0% promos). Gave her some other info and was on hold for 5 mins and she came back to say that she increased the line to 7.5k like i wanted.
On a side note I have been requesting a CLI on my Freedom card for years and have only ever managed a 200 auto on the card. So From 0 to 5k to 7.5k in a day on the Sapphire makes me think that they may have product bias, so take that into consideration when requesting a CLI on activation, and make sure you follow-up with a financial rep if the customer service request turns you down.
Good luck!

Congratulations. I hope you understood that 'reprocessed' meant HP.
I'd like to say thank you for this thread! I have multiple accounts with Chase and my score (after 12 years of hard work) is in the 770s, but Chase still gave me a pending. I called the recon line and after explaining a few things (like a large balance on a balance transfer card and spending around 20 minutes on hold, the guy told me the system was down. I called again about 24 hours later and was just told that they approved my for $16k CL on the Hyatt Card! That's my highest limit yet, other than my AMEX. Thanks so much for the advice to call instead of waiting for the decline letter!

There was no additional pull. I am assuming it's because I had just opened and received the card and they still had current info; that would have been just be dastardly to do to a person, tho I've seen worse from other companies.
