I called Chase today about a new CC I have with them. They said if I wanted a CLI for the card it would be a Hard Pull. I'm not sure why as I didn't need a HP to get the card in the first place.
So I walked through options with them. One thing I explored was moving credit between Chase cards. They are more than happy to do that as most of us on here know. However I asked them can moving credit between cards impact getting auto CLI increases? The responded by saying that it potentially can impact the algorithims for an auto CLI increase.
I had auto luv before with Chase so might as well not HP for it.

The best way to get Auto Love from Chase is to put a large amount on your card and make HUGE payments and then after your payment date put a very small amount back on the card.....so if you had a 1k CL put 998 dollars on it then make one payment of 400 one payment of 300 etc by the payment due date then after the payment date put like 8 dollars maybe to report to statement....then do the same for the next few cycles for whatever reason this works for BIG auto love and how I doubled my CL in a few months (no HP) XD. When I pay my current CL down in big chunks again I'll let you know if it works again but I noticed they love to see high use then large payments by due date
Of course YMMV but worked for me and a few others ![]()

a lot of good info and tips here for chase.
thanks everyone

You got a Chase credit card without a HP? Color me impressed or Chase changed something while I wasn’t looking.
Chase has always been a HP for a CLI, and even then the CLI’s haven’t been great compared to their original limit extensions.
Rule of thumb is if you want / need a higher Chase limit apply for a new tradeline and shuffle the limits around.
Speaking as someone who has gotten more than my share of auto CLI’s from Chase, don’t hold your breath for large increases as every single one or mine has been below 5K, and for that matter not sure I have gotten one above 3K I don’t expect any more TBH ... Chase generally isn’t a lender to limit build with: you get the gnarly limits from them after you have from somewhere else typically
+1 ^ ^ ^ As someone who has been a Chase cardholder for 19+ years and currently holds six of their cards, this is good info. I don't know if I've ever got auto-luv from Chase but they've been glad to keep giving me new cards. They're now my largest single lender at well over six figures, thanks to the multiple cards. But getting an increase on a single card seems to require very large utilization of that account. They love spend-and-pay! I'm also wondering how you got a new card without a HP, unless maybe it was a PC?? I've never heard of that with Chase.

I'm definitely curious as well, I've been with Chase for over 25+ years and I've yet to see anyone obtain a CC approved without a HP (let alone 2 these days), even if you are a CPC.
i think chase pulls from experian and equifax

I had a HP with Chase in June of 2019. Since then at least on my last 2 cards I have no new HP in my credit journey and I got auto luv in November.
Unless they are pulling something else than Transunion I'm not seeing the pulls.
